In a parallel realm; a field where uniformity, norms and standards reign,
Existed a creative and misfitting, an alien, unwanted grain,
Obscured by the looming clouds of her despotic kin,
She dared to dream, to spread her wings and let the light within.
Her thoughts, imagination – a tapestry, both vibrant and wild,
Yet the icy tentacles wound suffocatingly, beguiled,
Isolation, a gnawing citadel she couldn’t breach
Self-deprecation’s damning whispers, at her beck, always within her reach.
A symphony fallen on deaf ears, unheard, in their rhetorical, intellectual prose,
A dance of tantalising hues and colours, in a grey world that froze,
In their critical, scrutinizing eyes, her light remained unseen,
An oasis survived in a garden of weeds, indeed, it was a realm unsullied and pristine.
Yet, in arid familial desert, flourished a sanctum, a light,
Her mother figure “grandma”, a beacon of love that brandished so bright,
In her healing, nurturing embrace, the girl found her voice,
A safe haven amidst the cacophony, a place of respite.
“Dearest,” she beckoned, “you’re a masterpiece,
A worm toiling in metamorphosis; a canvas who’s glow will never cease,
Banish the burdens stacked by doubt’s vicious shadows, stand up and fight,
Your worth isn’t defined by their parochial decree; let the world see your indelible light.”
Through countless internal battles fought within her soul’s domain,
Self-doubt and self-deprecation were cleansed like a landscape washed by a torrent of rain,
A whole person again, no longer broken, she finds her voice,
Loving her diversity, shunning the rhetoric, making her every choice.
To pay homage to grandma, her mentor and guiding light,
She tenaciously embarks on a quest, fierce, resilient and bright,
A mission to proliferate the love she knows,
Leading kindred spirits from wilted despondency till they bloom like a rose.
Beyond the shackling chains of society’s parochial, unrelenting decree,
She shows them light, a mirror of resplendent beauty, a heart soaring free,
She adorns, grooms, fashions and recreates a masterpiece, bringing joy and delight,Proudly living the healing legacy, grandma’s eternal light.
